    I obtained a LG 50PY2DR with built in DVR.....issues?

    Hello everyone
I recently obtained a LG 50PY2DR and when I first got it I replaced the Y board because image rainbow snow. That at least fixed the no picture but now I have a black square box lower left and 2 1in. Wide vertical lines running About 7in down from top and stop. I am aware that the plasma is separated into sections and driven by buffer boards. Both buffer boards been replaced with same issue. My question is will a defective Yand Z board cause these problems. I am thinking bad tab connection for the two lines but the square box has me boggled. Things I done
Replaced Y board with one off ebay(Fixed rainbow snow effect)
Now that I had picture I replaced
    The lower left buffer
    The center top buffer
And control board but returned to seller due to broken tab
(Did not fix issue) Just need some advise. I WOULD LIKE TO USE THIS TV IF POSSIBLE CONSIDERING THE BUILT IN DVR and just a note this tv was around 6000 to 7000 dollars new

      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Schematic or datasheet for Plasma TV buffer chip
      by Yanleb
      Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....

LG 42PC3 buffer output doesn't follow YSUS
      by legg
LG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
      All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.

Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V

Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between
drive signal pattern periods. A replacement drive signal board confirms this....

LG 50PT350 bad lower y buffer
      by shiz1
      Hello everyone,
Recently received an older lg plasma for free to fix.
Symptoms - no picture but i have sound. I hear the click of the relay, and the hum from the ysus.

What i've tried - i remove the ysus buffers one by one, when i removed the lower buffer i get picture on the top half of the screen. Removing the top buffer and leaving the bottom still gives me a black screen.
i tested the va/vs at the psu and they're within spec as outlined by the sticker.
I tested the lower buffer checking continuity between the white connector - see attached pics - on the...

Buffer data does not match SPI chip!
      by macmino
Hi all, after several attempt, I finally got a working CH341 Pro working USB device. Now I'm able to read dump the BIOS

When I verify the image (800G6_EC_RCunlocked.BIN found on this forum) I receive "Buffer data does not match SPI chip!". I tried different programmer but the message is the same. Anyway, I removed the password but I see at the boot the HP Message:

      "HP Endpoint Security Controller Problem"

When I hit OK, the boot continues and I'm able to use the computer. Did. the SPI chip not match error caused the error?
