    PANASONIC TH-P42S10A - 10 blinks

    PANASONIC TH-P42S10A - 10 blinks. Roughly equivalent to a TC-P42S1.

Just got this a couple of hours ago. 10 blinks on power on. Quick check of the Sc , ok.

Isolated to just the P and A boards, still 10 blinks. Noticed optic jack not illuminating suggesting missing SUB3.3V.

Checked F15V, ok. Checked PA5600 fusible link (smd) , ok

SUB3.3V also goes to SD slot, known to be an issue if foreign objects go in there and bend the pins.

Sure enough , closer inspection , pins bent in all directions, shorting to case taking the SUB3.3V down.

straightened pins, removed short and fired up OK. SD slot still damaged, SD card causes short again but fine empty.

11300 Hrs and panel looks just fine

Nice! I've never used the SD card slot on any TV I've had. I would put a piece of tape over it.

Tom66 & tw2005 is it safe to desolder SD card from the equation to clear the short and run the set with out it..
As the set I have the guy who owns it inserted a SD card then it turned it self off done the 10 blinks and has done that ever since.

So removing the slot will this solve my problem as the pins where pushed right back and no way of clearing it.

well it would, i got a needle in there and straightened mine out but sounds like the if it does not go in push harder manoeuvre was tried.

either that or get the schematics and cut the leg off that has power supplied, it's just that the whole body of that slot is soldered.

but yes you just need to remove the short.

I am assuming you've confirmed that the pins in that socket are bent and shorted.

I removed it and took the casing off the sd card.
It would of been impossible to clear this short as they where curled back touching the metal casing.

sounds interesting. You just leaving this missing or going to try and find a replacement to solder in?

Didn't work. disconnected all the other boards from power still no different blinks to say other boards are faulty.
I am assuming mainboard has failed as psu board is new as another guy before me replaced it for unknown reasons.

But the SD slot was shorted, yes? And you've confirmed that the 3.3v rail is no longer shorted to ground?

Never been good on the A-boards but all I can suggest is you see what voltages are monitored for 10 blink and see if you can find the one missing on start-up.

I had a 50 with 1 blink and turned that into a 10 blink, must have shorted something, gave up and used a G10 board and bypassed the Fan SOS since it has none to get that working.

very rare to see boards on Ebay here though.

Would there be a sense connection something that would sense that the sd card is in there that will need bridging together.

yes the sd card was defiantly shorted. you could do the continuity test on two pins and they would have continuity.

                            I doubt that's the issue

That's unlucky, would have put money on it clearing the fault but if you're foloowing someone elses failed attempt, who knows what's been done.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                                  Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

                                  Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                  Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...
