JVC LT-42MX48 Display Works, not Inputs

    Hi There,

I have a 2007ish JVC LCD. Its an LT-42MX48 as stated.

The problem I'm seeing is that none of the HDMI inputs seem to work. However, video does display. When I open the menu the video looks absolutely fine. However, none of the HDMI inputs seem to be display anything. I haven't yet tested the other inputs, seems like I don't have anything that uses RCA anymore lols! I'll see if I can find something tonight though and update whether any of the updates work at all.

In the mean time, does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause? I was thinking T-Con, however now I'm thinking that wouldn't be the case since I do in fact get video, not HDMI, maybe nothing as far as inputs are concerned.

    Thanks for any help!

its possible that a lightening strike has took out the hdmi s, if a main board is cheap enough the one with the hdmi ports on it maybe worth swoping it just make sure all the number match the ones of any stickers too.
if you can get into the service menu maybe worth carrying out a factory reset first.

So I got into the service menu, doing this

Press the {MENU} button and go to the User Menu screen, make sure that the indicator (arrow) is pointed and highlights the "Picture Control".
The buttons on top of the remote are set to TV & VCR respectively.
Set sleep timer to "0" minutes and while it is displayed, simultaneously press the {VIDEO STATUS} & {DISPLAY} buttons.
The Service Menu will be displayed.
Use the number keys {1-9} to select a category.
Use the {CH+} {CH-} buttons to select options.
Use the {VOL+} {VOL-} buttons to change settings.
Use the {MUTING} button to save settings.
Press the {BACK} button to exit the Service Menu.

      The options I have are

      1. TV-Micro Service
      2. Digital Service
      3. Digital Diagnostics
      4. Digital Engineering Function

pressing 1 works, but none of the others do. I imagine that's a bad sign eh?

Your best bet is to check out ALL the inputs.... including over the air... which if you are lucky will hopefully give you an HD picture to evaluate things further. Odds are high that the hdmi section was taken out by something (history?).... but that doesn't mean other things can't / won't work.

            IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're the best!

All I did was go inter service mode, press 1, 2 then unplug. Then I repeated about 10 times. Worked wonders!
