    Lg 50pg60-ua

Bought this TV back in 2008 but didn't install and start using until 2010 (when the 2 year warranty expired). After about 6 months thin vertical white lines spaced evenly about an inch or so apart would appear across the entire screen but go away after 10-20 minutes. Suddenly it would go away for a few months then come back again. Well they are back and here to stay. The pictures shown are with no inputs connected to eliminate external components. I believe I can save this TV by replacing the control board in the center but I want to be sure before investing. I don't have a service remote. It doesn't show well but the lines do run from top to bottom.
Thanks for any input or advice.

On the control board I have re-seated the flat cables and the Honglin labeled cable but I couldnt see how to remove/release the top right cable.

yes its probably a control board fault.

there are 2 holes marked EXT_AUTO_GEN
beside the 2 resistors marked R211 and R241

connect the 2 holes with a paperclip, bit of wire etc.
      disconnect the LVDS cable.

      turn on the tv.

you should now get test patterns.. if the fault remains, then the control board is at fault... however if you get perfect test patterns then the main AV board is faulty.

LDVS cable is the top center cable (on the control board)coming from the main AV board where the hdmi inputs are? Thanks

Did as instructed but I am not getting any test pattern. TV powers up a there is a slight glow from the screen only. Perhaps my jumper isn't making a proper connection?
            Edit: Thank you Hamie!
I used a better wire and had to wiggle it around a wee bit but I do have a test pattern cycling through. Good news is that I am still getting the fault (white lines) so I will invest in a control board and keep my fingers crossed.
Perhaps someone can clue me in to how to remove the cable connecting to the ZSUS, I cant see any lock tabs. I dont want to break it.

New board just arrived. Installed and all seems well. Thank you to the Badcaps community and Hamie for the help in diagnosis. Also the good people at ShopJimmy for a working board at a great price! Just waiting for help to hang the TV back on the wall. I hope to get a few years more from this set, it has always had such a rich picture.
