heres a youtube video I'll try to repair with except I'll use the heat gun from under the strip to not damage the led's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uBhca7zyXI
Great idea, and another use for a heat gun. I will have to invest in one of those sometime.

In the end though, I chose to trash the set, and buy a new one, with a 3 year extended warranty. It just happened the store was clearing out 50" Toshibas, and I got one for $250 (which has been working fine for the past year).

Could I have fixed the old one for less? Maybe, maybe not. But finding a good deal on the right LED strip was difficult at the time, and I ran out of time and had to move on to other projects.

this is my very first post on here so go easy one me. I am an unlimited electrical journeyman but Im a little out of my element. I have samsung tv model un46eh5000fxza with no back lights. It has audio & if i put a flashlight to the screen I can barely see the menu. I replaced the t-con boars but apparently that was unnecessary bec the problem remains. What would be my next step & does anyone know what my output voltage should be thats feeding the LEDs? Jk I just located on the board the voltage listings. sorry Whats my cheapest route to replace a few LEDs

You can follow the instructions given from Post #1 onwards and come back and post your results. I suspect a led(s) or led driver fault.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

The cheapest ones are probably from the slow boat from china, ebay, aliexpress etc.
