    Samsung PS50B530S2W

The relay, if it is, keeps getting damaged when tv in on for few minutes. As if high current is going to it. See pictures:

I have bought a new board, worked for 20mins then the same issue as old board (in pics).

Thats not a relay its a Polly cap think for the Vs voltage probably means Vs fets are short. Do you have a DMM and do you know how to check for Short Circuit ?

        Did you replace that capacitor?
You may not have used the proper pulse DC rated cap. It is important that you don't just use an X-cap from a power supply, or otherwise.

Thanks for the reply! I have not changed anything. I have two boards: the original with same part burnt. Ordered a used board from ebay, it worked for few minutes then after it cuts out. Looking the board, it has the same as original. Is the transformer causing it?

Looking at the schematics, the burnt cap is: 68nF / 1250V

That cap does go bad on some of these sets. I would try replacing it. Use an SMPS high pulse DC rated polyester capacitor.

I had it on a Ps50c450 where Vs fets were short. Were blowing that cap. Check them before blowing another cap.

The EN210A is a 100v 10A TO-220 schottky diode full part number FMEN210A should have no problem finding them digi-key list them so would RS I think

Ok I have replace the FET with a new one we've got, resoldered the 'almost damaged cap' but it still burns on that same pin. Done few research as I feel as though those caps can 'age'.

I'll wait for the new cap and report back if same problem.

                          Thanks.

What do you mean almost damaged ?

Those pictures are of the first board. The second board, bought off ebay, the cap pin burnt only to cause 'cold solder'.

I have replaced the polly cap and all seems ok. But I know the tv works.
