Samsung PS42A456P2DXXU **help**

Hi, I picked up this set dead a few days ago, on first inspection the PSU had a blown Fuse which I replaced, Now I get 5 red flashes from the set, then the red led goes out.

Checking the PSU I have p+5v sndby and +3v on PSon and 0v on VS and VA no matter which board is plugged in or unplugged.


So im guessing this is a PSU fault so started to dig about to replace it but I can only find 1 @ £90 (PSU = BN44-00204A) , so after looking up for a service kit and finding a site selling them for around £28 so i got the service manual and found each part number to see if i could get the parts localy and cheaper .
QS801 = FQA13N50CF 13n50 3 pin
QS802 = FQA13N50CF
DS804 = 1SS355
DS803 = 1SS355
RS814 = 10R(2012)F (Not sure what these are im guessing resistors)
RS812 = 10R(2012)F
ICS801 = MC33067p

any help would be great .

Checked fuses ? Also what about Vs on signal ?

all fuses are good, Vs is always 0

Zero volts on both no matter what I do , i have been messuring from these points ...

No look on the connectors that go to the mainboard and Tcon there is a pin that should say Vs on that turns on the Vs and Va supplies on the psu do you see it ?

OK .. im guesing second pin in is Vs-ON ? which is 0 votls ..PS = 3v

Connect ps-on to ground.

And vs-on to 5vstby

Once done check and see if vs is present.

Sorry forgot to mention do the above with the main board disconnected.

just to clear things up are you saying conect and mesure VS from the end 2 pins like this with PS-ON conected to earth via 1 the screw to the chassi

Like this but using my + probe from meter to connect 5STD and VS-ON

Yeah thats good or just solder a small wire bridge.

Yeah probably best to do it on the underside of the board (less chance of shorting something out) but that will work apply power and see if Vs comes up.
