Took 47 in lg led smart TV apart to change the Leds and lost order of which way the films go on. There's 2 white prices. Then the silver film then the thick plastic piece. Also my cousin ended up cracking that plastic piece. Is this thing important or can I use something else in its place. I fixed the LEDs just don't know the order to put this back together thanks

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
With a philips LCD i know that the plastic part goes first and then the 2 thin layers , might be different for LED and yes that plastic part is important. If you install it with the cracks in it you will see if on the screen.I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60! -
Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
The plastic piece is a prism guide plate, it boosts the light output of the panel and makes the light more directional. Without it, the light output will be lower, you will probably see LEDs in the image, and colours may be distorted (depending on the panel.) So you do need that plate there. You will have to source another one. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
What about the silver film? Is that last then closer to the screen? Or closer to the LEDs? Also could I use any type of plastic clear?Comment

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
The plastic is optically clear stuff. So no ordinary stuff. It also gets hot and cannot warp, burn or emit bad smell next to 60C LEDs.
You need to be more careful next time. Take it as a lesson! Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
You might be able to find something that fits from a similar screen. But there aren't any readily available components as far as I'm aware. I know because I've looked into replacing water damaged films before. I found one supplier in China but they needed original CAD drawings and had a minimum order of 50 sheets. Over $350. Yeah, not happening. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I just need the hard plastic piece was wondering if I could another sort of plastic if it was clear and didn't warpComment

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
It has special optical properties and also forms as a mechanical support for some of the BLU layers so I would say no.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
I wanted to ask this question myself.
Do you think Tom, that these thin layers can be flipped over when you re-install them?
Or they can be installed only in one way(direction)? They are directional(like tires(tyres)?
The two-three thin sheets, are the same, or they are differences between them?Comment

Re: order to put films layers back together on screen
The prism film is directional. The other films are diffusers or guide plates and do not have directional properties.
You can identify the prism film because it is highly reflective on one side and has a kind of scan-line pattern to it.

by sam_sam_samThis happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors
I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using
I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed
The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well
I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the... -
