Problem with my Samsung 43H4500 plasma tv

    hi to all

I have recently bought a 43h4500 samsung plasma tv and i have a problem with my the motion fluidity.

the first 15 days (first 150 hours) everything was fine except black level who was higher than expected and not good as revealed on reviews and the presence of some dirty screen effect.
The colors, depth, the motion fluidity and the clear stable image was realy great and the 600 hz was felt. I mostly use 50hz satellite receiver signal.

Now the biggest problem is the motion fluidity with HDMI calbe ( with RCA no problem), it's not as great as the first day and the picture clarity, stability and depth are also like lost.

For anyone else the motion will appear "normal" but i can feel the difference.

Annoyed by this problem, i tried 3 or 4 other HDMI cables but same problem, and since this problem can't demonstrate by eyes to ask reparation or replacement, i have try to change some settings and i have found that if i change "APC Speed" from "slow" to "fast" in PDP option by hitting mute+7+3+7+enter the motion fluidity/stability become normal.

The problem is that is should turn off the tv to exit from PDP option and this setting can't be saved, everytime i turn off the tv, the value become "slow" again.

I would to point out that this anormal or weak motion fluidity was also present and remarked by another members of my family with my sony 32cx520 LCD TV (only with HDMI, with RCA connection it was great), the motion was described by "heavy" exactly like my plasma TV now. Another thing if i connect my satellite receiver to my philips or samsung PC lcd monitors by HDMI cable the motion is perfectly normal.

Now i'm asking myself if the problem isn't due to the elecricity voltage or something like this ?? i haven't try the TV on another room but i'm realy disapointed by this strange unique problem since i haven't found similair problem when searching on the net.

In hope to change the "APC speed" setting, i found the DIY IR transmiter + wav file method to get the samsung extended service as described in the following page
    http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5?tit...IR_transmitter

Now i can successfully send commands from my Laptop exactly if i have the factory remote, but unfortunately the "apc speed" is restored to "slow" everytime.

I realy want to know what's exactly the problem and try to solve it, so all your suggestion and information will be very helpfull.

    thanks

IF this is a Brand new set--couple weeks old, why not ask the suppliers/makers about it?

BUT--DONT tell 'em you've been messing in the 'hidden' engineer's menus or the Warranty will be void....

      thanks for the quick response

The local technical service have done a "Visual" check and for them the tv is normal and show the same performance of the others sets, the DSE was judged as normal (present in all others plasma TV accodring to them), motion and gosthing too.

the problem is that this motion fluidity problem isn't immediatly perceptible by eyes, the motion will look normal for anyone unless you see it for many hours, you got the "sensation" ( like discomfort )that the motion differ from what it should to be
, because the difference between the problematic motion and the normal or perfect motion is minimal and only some mesurements ( perhaps Frames per second, frequencies, ...etc) can firmly prove it.

Now i ask myself if this motion fluidity problem that appeared after 150 hours of use is internal to the plasma TV or to an electrical problem because this is the second time it happen for me.

        Try a Firmware Update....

Failing that--This set IS a Budget Model (£250) and probably doesn't contain the extra processing features say a top of the line Plasma set would have....

i don't know if the pdf file in the signature was for me but thanks for it , and if yes, i will try to understand the basic ideas.

          For firmwares:
My tv model is PA43H4500, a middle east & africa model and from officiel samsung web, the firmware is undern name : T-NT14LDAAC*.*
But strangly, the TV come with EU 1026 firmware, since european models are under T-NT14LDEUC*.* name, First time, i have tried to update it with the firmware for the PA model but the tv ignored it and accepted only the EU firmware and this is what happend:
          • Everything was fine with the original EU 1026 firmware and i update it immediately with EU 1028 version, in hope to get better blacks but 10 days after there was motion blurring, and like black trails when dark objects moved under clear background and it was the reason i contacted the local technical service.
Since i get the tv returned, i have tried factory reset from service menu and i update it with the two most recently appeared firmwares and until now, the motion blurring is normal, the black level is higher now (blacks are lighter than the first day) and the lack of the motion fluidity is always here

Concerning this TV, yes it's a budget model, but it seem that this default concern only my tv, all cheap 50 hz PC monitors or TVs i have tried or seen on magasin or showroom, showed really normal motion fluidity despite of motion blurring.

now i'm trying to understand what cause the problem and Your professional opinion will be very helpful :

1- Samsung APC speed as i found in some forums and documents is supposed to modify the quickness of power cutting, so why setting it to "fast" impact the motion fluidity ?
2- Do you think that instable or relatively low voltage from can impact the fluidity of a TV under HDMI connection ( LCD, Led or plasma tv) ?

Re: Problem with my Samsung 43H4500 plasma tv

My tv now has alternatively, a perfect motion and subnormal motion comportement, so sometimes the motion fluidity is perfect and sometimes there is a lack of fluidity.

My knowledge on electronics are very limited so i would know if it's possible that a
an occasional relatively low voltage on a socket can be the cause of this strange TV behavior !
so is it possible that like a lamp light intensity change depending on electricity voltage, a TV fluidity and brightness will be also impacted by voltage fluctuation ?
