samsung ps42q96hd squealing/buzzing noise

hi guys

all voltages are good picture is fine etc etc but im getting a squealing/buzzing noise ive tried to use a toilet roll holder to track it down but i cant

any ideas what it may be ?
i have highlighted the area in the picture

You mean the insert against your ear?

Possible loose winding on the transformer maybe?

Yes but after a hour of the tv warming up the buzzing stops

A common issue when a plasma TV has a buzzing sound is a crack in the ferrite core transformer for the Vs. It won't normally cause problems for the power supply - the TV will work fine - but it'll make a hell of a racket. There's little you can do about it.

Sometimes you can cure this kind of problem by spraying conformal coating into the cracks and crevasses in the transformer. Spray a little puddle and allow gravity to pull the coating inside, do this from all angles. When I was manufacturing High V ozone generators we did this to prevent buzzing and eventual failure of the main high voltage transformers. They lasted longer in higher power/heat conditions too! High V ozone generators crate a vicious environment.

At the very least it should help keep the sound inside!
