Can someone help me find the training manual for this series (April 2012), I have the SM but the troubleshooting section refers to a different manual:

what exactly are you trying to figure out? I don't think i've seen anyhig other than the ut/st 50 guide so unless there's someone with a panasonic login who can get it I think we may be out of luck on this one.

is this a no power issue?

Here's a few quick photos. The story is a guy brought this to me to fix, and he cracked the screen on transport. I don't know what was wrong before, but I was going to try to find the issue so I know what parts are good. I imagine it was in the same state before the screen broke.

I have 5V on STBY5V, and 15V on F15V, nothing else. Nothing happens on pressing the power button. The power LED is not lit (I'm not sure if it would be anyway while in standby), but the optical connector is lighting up red on the main board when plugged in so I know we're getting the 5V to the main board.

From there I don't know where to TS or if those other voltages in the photo should be on at this point or only after it gets the PS-ON signal.

Seems very easy to work on if I had the troubleshooting flow chart.

yeah, ok , well I think finding out what the original symptoms from the person would be handy place to start.

having 5vstb and F15v is a good start plus the optical jack suggests the A board is somewhat functional, no front LED though, not sure.

This is one of those horrible PSS boards which seem to give trouble.

have you had GENERAL PROBE ON THE pss AND THE sN TO SEE IF THERE'S ANY OBVIOUS SHORTED PARTS?

No obvious shorts, on the SN board there is a SRVP5V test point which has 5V.

I honestly don't know. I have the darfon schematic for the PSS and I know u203 can cause a dead TV but not having any experience with these i can't remember if you end up with no standby or not when it is faulty or if it is present and the front LED is out.

so have you watched the front LED as you plug in, any sign of life there even if only brief?

There is no light from the LED but I think it may just go red when you power it on. Can you post the schematic? (It may be in my SM I haven't checked)

I wonder which one is the serial

The doc i found says up to 2560001 was applicable for faulty U203, looking at the board the sequence 20 00006 maybe the serial but then I'm suspicious of 00006 as just being related to the part number.

Not really helping, I think i may be just complicating things. If I was shooting in the dark and had to pick the most likely thing to fail in these it would be the PSS.

From the few posts we've had it does seem to be a common fault.

I have read your info on U203 before and had searched for that part but seems like only found in the UK, I found a datasheet that said it was not to be shipped to the USA by order of a court injunction??
This board has a U203 with markings PC2AB, 675SU

Really, it will be 6755U onthe chip I expect. Do you have that info on the court injunction for us to read. Is that a recent doc?

I meant I had another newer Panasonic and the power LED only lit up red when you press the power button and TV comes on it stays red and is off when TV is off.

AC/DC Converters This particular part was found to be patent infringing and we are unable to sell this product.

So that's an interesting situation, panasonic has a Power board that contains an illegal chip so how does one repair this board and how can they continue to supply it as a spare?

I wonder who they've copied this from /

I guess it would be worth trying U203 if I can find one.

(I just ordered one from UK I'll update if it should fix it. The problem is the broken screen and if it will still power on anyway)

In all those posts did anyone ever check voltages when it wouldn't turn on, or has there not been a confirmed case of this on here yet?

several reports of that exact scenario where after a loss of power they could not get the Tv to turn on but after a few days it came back. you'd have to do your own searching but I start with model numbers and the PSS board part number, maybe u203, and b159-201 as keywords. you're bound to find something even if it's in another country
