I have a maxent tv belongs to a friend it has a lot of colors spots difrent colors green red if any one has any ideas what might be causing it.here is a pic.

This is maldischarge. It will require the software on the control board to be updated. Capkid in the USA has the equipment and software to do this, maybe worth PMing him. It is a common issue with these LG panels.

What equipment do you need to fix that issue? Any pictures/brands?

The jig from LG. It's about $150 from last I remember although a guy a while back was selling them for about $20 a piece.

Hmm ok , what do i search for if i want 1 from LG or Panasonic/Samsung?

Panasonic doesn't have this issue, and Samsung never released a jig for their maldischarge issues which were fairly uncommon.

Ok , so LG has maldischarge issues. ( Philips also right? ).

Could you provide me with a name of the jig?

Philips used LG and Samsung panels. Philips themselves never made plasma panels. (LG-Philips was LCD only; plasmas were always made by LG Electronics or LGE PDP.)

I don't know what the jig is called. Perhaps ask CapKid...

No. Needs a firmware update to fix a problem with the algorithms that compensate for panel aging.

These pics confirm you have a 42" X2 panel, which is well known to suffer from maldischarge issues over time.

Finding the correct software to flash the control board for this TV has proven to be inconclusive, so I'm posting on the forum to see if someone might be able to shed some light.

The service ROM master sheet that comes with the LG jig software mentions three panel models for the 42X2A control board and two software versions:

(1) Software version 42X2ADNACS2_8D10.bin for PDP42X2002# and PDP42X202## panels

(2) Software version 42X2ATDCS2_64C0.bin for PDP42X208## panel

Based on the sticker on the ROM chip (42X2ATGL3A), I can only guess that "42X2ATDCSC2_64C0.bin" is the correct software version.
