Yea, with that subject, it's gotta be
OK, 52" Sony LCD... When powered up, the Left and Middle areas are darker and a "blur"... Latent images that linger.. And there is a top bar that is normal for color and no blur...
After the TV warms up (anywhere from an hour to all day depending on ambient temps) the latency/blur goes away, but the lighter horizontal bar remains...
Initially had it hooked up on HDMI ports and it was ALWAYS blurry/latency.. Left it running for days (3-4) at a time.. Last week the HDMI ports quit working, so I hooked up to COMPOSITE and that's when I noticed it got a better picture after warm-up...
I read up on TOM's awesome Guide on Plasmas.. It's got the same type of symptom that Tom describes:
but then I realized I was dealing with an LCD...
I have replaced the buffer (buffer??) boards on the sides with no change to the picture...
Since I have been walked thru troubleshooting on another set and lived (THANX TW!!!
) I figured I would use this new found skill (courage?) on another one..
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciative..

The picture is slow to update (motion blur) and has a purple or lilac tinge to it. When first turned on, it may look like a lava lamp that has not yet warmed up. The screen may not be evenly lit - it may look a bit "foggy". Half of the screen may be more distorted than the other half. When running, it may look like this (excuse the camera shake). This is in about 95% of cases the Z-sustain.
