I know it has been discussed on this forum and around the net, but this is not the same situation. It's more like the next phase in this monitor's demise, as follows:
It started out as "Not optimum mode" for which i applied the 50/47 ohm fix present around the web (shorting pins 5 and 6 on the Novatek chip with a resistor). It worked for around a year.
Now I'm getting the following behavior:
- turning it on: blank screen, green power led blinks slowly
- removing the vga cable: i get the "check signal cable" box moving around the screen
- plugging it back in: blank screen, green power led blinks slowly
- pressing the Menu button: a box in the corner saying "TEST GOOD" with a 5 circles image
If I remove the resistor i get the same behavior. The panel seems OK, i tested it with another logic board and displays correctly.
