Just doing a few checks on this Samsung, PSU-BN4400165A

Testing these resistors 9YD7C15 5W-R15k on my meter they both reading 000.3 ohms.

Im sure those readings ain't correct, whot I want to know can I use the other resistor shown in attachment #3 instead.

Sure they are the same rated.

Also where can I get the correct part from.

The Television was staying on for like 10-15 minutes then the picture would freeze, the Television would power down then turn on again. click click click a few times then power down.

If you leave the Television off for a few minutes, Turn it on then would work for a few minutes then it would repeat the same procedure as mention above.

These resistors would appear to be confusingly marked.
They are actually 0R15 = 0.15 ohm with K being the tolerance (+/-5%)
So that is OK.

Sounds like a main A/V board fault rather than a power supply fault. You should check the output rails of the power supply though, if they are unstable it could possibly cause this.

Cheers tom66 i only did take the psu, to have a look over, i replaced all the caps in pix4, the group in the top right hand corner.

So you thing is more the main board?
heat related?

Yes, probably main board with the freezing issue. BGA soldering failure again.

Wouldn't able to get to the Tv until tuesday, so you saying look out for dry joints.

Basically the same failure as the Xbox 360 RROD / PS3 YLOD.
Reflow usually gives the set a month of so of useful life - not sure if there's a permanent fix out there yet.

Yes.
This is conditional on you checking the power supply output voltages and finding them to be ok.

Little update, after the recap, still the same after 10-15mins or so power down click click click tries to restart.
This is only on the PSU side I've check out. When into service mode, tried a reset, not if sure if its worked.

The set been running like for 30 mins without reseting sofar.

Little update the set worked for like 3.5 to 4 hours, so ive been told. which is a improvement, but not the full solution.

Removed the AV mainboard to check it over, Dont know if im correct but thing i found a diode? Clear type with 3 bands of color Green,Orange,Brown? Location D1505 seems to be 'OL' in certain direction, When i check similar they read in both directions.

Hoping someone would shed some light if im correct on that.

If attached photos not good enough will try to take them again.

I wouldn't focus on a diode. It's unlikely to be your fault. The fault is intermittent, so try heating/cooling parts to see if you can trigger it. Most likely, processor solder failure.

I hear whot you saying tom66, saturday when i had a look, it was on for a while 1-1.5 hours, decided to put back cover on, to see if heat effected it, within like 20-30 seconds of putting back cover on, fault returned?

On close inspection didnt really see anything usually just that diode.

Ok, will have to try that, think they just want me get a new board than all the testing testing and diagnosing stuff, im like it save you money if its just 1 component.

Funny thing once the fault comes picture freezes for 1 min then it switches on again.

The diode is probably a red herring. Diodes should test open-circuit one way (reverse biased) or it means they're shorted\leaky.

The other diodes which show readings both ways probably have parts in parallel which are causing a false reading.

When in doubt, always test the components off the board.

Cheers for the input lads, Did the heat test with the Hairdryer.
Yea its cut outs, similar fault as before, just lines running thru the screen, even seen it also do normal hand size black spot, disappears on restart.

Roughly got the location, D1103 component 714 B34 or its 714 1334. in ohms its reads 54.6 other direction it reads 62.6. In diode mode 0.087 reverse probes 0.052.

Been given the money to get a next AV board.

BORDEAUX PLUS BN41-00813B-MP1.0

Ive seen boards with 00813D can i also use this board.

You can use any similar board where the connectors are the same and the panel is the same (different size ok, as long as resolution same, 1080=1080 or 720=720)

I can't tell you that - you need to ask the seller the specific details about what TV it came from.

From memory - the 37" panels were made by Chungwha P.T. and the 40" panels are Samsung so I would so NO... it would not work... however I do not know if this applied to all models.

Ive looked at all the other boards, this is the only one that seems the same, others have connection ports missing.
