Back again with my second samsung...I'm really beginning to see how crummy these tv's are. Anyways, when turning on the tv it often throws out a horrible sound of something being electrocuted, but the volume is all the way down- bose system is connected to audio. The picture may do several things: not come on, vertical/ horizontal lines, white screen with static, flickering picture, maybe all. I have to turn on and off the set a few times and it fixes itself. Sometimes it works for a while, other times I have to switch on and off repeatedly. This has gone on for a few months. Any thoughts? I took a few .MOV of the problem happening and will post as soon as I figure out how to. Thanks in advance for any input.

If you are hearing arcing do not continue to turn it off and on, open it and find your bad solder joint and or short, arcing can cause major damage. I would concentrate on the power board as the likely culpritLiberating magic smoke one part at a time -
