Anyways, when turning on the tv it often throws out a horrible sound of something being electrocuted, but the volume is all the way down- bose system is connected to audio. The picture may do several things: not come on, vertical/ horizontal lines, white screen with static, flickering picture, maybe all. I have to turn on and off the set a few times and it fixes itself. Sometimes it works for a while, other times I have to switch on and off repeatedly. This has gone on for a few months. Any thoughts? I took...

Re: samsung ln32a330j1d picture troubleshooting
ordered the new board for my 32", installed and all is well. However, my samsung 46" is now starting to do about the same thing including the picture sometimes shrinks into the corner. if i turn it off and on it corrects itself but i think it's just trouble starting to happen! What's with this company? I think it's time to seriously take a look at sony!

Think i might just get the tcon board since nobody in my area will solder a new ic. Thoughts on where? Or does everyone just roll the dice on ebay?

Re: samsung ln32a330j1d picture troubleshooting
is the thought that the tcon is shot or just the ic? and which would be more intelligent to change?

It looks like a faded negative with odd color which is present using both component and coax inputs. No odd colored lines, no distinct solarization.
I've done both factory resets without resolution to the problem. But when I pull up the onscreen menu, the menu itself looks fine. Back of the input board does have some odd light tan color to it here and there but visually the boards look fine and there is...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello Badcapinites,
I'm a DIY'r who takes on projects with the thought: "what am i going to do? break it more!?" I have excellent research skills and utilizes the internet and it's forums in order to fix what I truly can't bare to just throw away. I started out trying to fix my first brand new Atari 2600 with my second and third 2600 (lemme just date myself here) and haven't stopped since. It was actually this forum which allowed me to fix my samsung which had...(wait for it)...bad caps! Just wanted to...
