    No video from Pioneer XV-BD212

    Hi

a few days ago i stupidly swapped the HDMI out cable from my onebox pioneer while it was on so i could watch a film on my Projector, after watching the film i swap the cables back so the picture was on the tv, but no picture came on the tv.

I've changed the hdmi ports on the tv and tried a brand new HDMI cable but nothing worked. i just got sound coming form the 5.1 speakers.

this morning i lent a RGB component cable as the the system has that one and it came on, i could see the home menu, could even play a dvd as it has a built in dvd player. So i thought i would take it along to my local tv repair guy told him what happened and he didn't even look at it, just said that because i swap round the hdmi cables without tuning of the system, i will of fried the video chip. Now i maybe wrong here but surly if that was the case the component video wouldn't work would it?

after reading round it was seem more likey that one of the caps could of blown?

I blew one of the HDMI inputs on my TV doing similar. The other two HDMI inputs work, just not the one I plugged my cable box in to whilst it was still on.

      HDMI is usually processed separately.
It is possible you damaged the IC but they do support hot swapping.
I doubt a capacitor would cause this issue.

        Thanks for that.

So it shouldn't really hurt it what I did then?

I've type the boards serial number into Google to look for replacement board but can't find anything on google

Has anyone have clue what it could be then as I really like this unit and want to fix it.

That's pretty much what I've done as if I plug the sky hd into hdmi 1 I can hear sound coming form the speakers just no video coming form HDMI OUT.

I've just got feeling that it's something simple and easy to fix and it's really buggy me!

No, it is still possible you damaged it. No guarantees. They are rated to survive it, but there's still a risk. We test our HDMI ports at work with 25kV ESD, which is 5x the rating they have to survive, but there is still a risk.

Are you still getting picture on the projector through HDMI? If you, then it means that the HDMI output of the Pioneer system is at least still working and did not get damaged. Post the model of your TV

My TV is a Panasonic VT20.

The projector works with sources fine. Just not with the pioneer.

It's not looking good isit guys. Bit gutted to be honest as I never change the hdmi when power the is still on, just this one time. Gutted.
