    Need 55-60" Tv recommendation

My buddy, who owns a bar, is looking to upgrade the main TV. He's looking for a 55-60" high def TV, and doesn't want to spend more than $1000. Obviously, it's going to get a lot of running hours in a hot room. As far as I'm aware, Panasonic and Sharp make some the highest quality TV's still? Appreciate any input!

I usually never buy extended warranties, but Costco has reasonable prices to extend the warranty up to 5 years.

If you buy a TV from Costco, you get 2 years automatically. Add another 3 years for $60 (for TVs priced between $500 and $1000). So for $12/annually or $1/month, you get a 5 year warranty and I think it is a good investment since the bar is likely to have the TV on for many hours a day.

For under $1000 in the 50 inch+ category, they have 10 TVs to choose from

Avoid Sharp below 60" as they are now re-badged by Best Buy etc. Just glorified Insignias.
Could consider an ex-stock Panasonic TC-P50S60/S64, or an LG 50PN6000, or a Panasonic LED-LCD TV.

Awesome, thank you guys for the recommendations I'll check to see what the local Costco has, and see what they have in the way of Panasonic and LG. I'll let you know what we choose!
