I have the infamous "will not turn on and makes clicking noise". I have looked at all the caps, they look ok no bulging or leaking. If I unplug the T CON board it will turn on and I hear the startup sound and the red light on the front flashes about 5 times then it shuts off. I have to unplug it to get it to come on again. It did the same thing with the Y main unplugged. I don't just want to throw parts on it blindly. I should mention this is my first tv repair. What tests should I do?

Can you post pictures from the boards? one general overview and one pic from each board...
It's a plasma,so there is no T-con board,curious to see which board you unplugged to get the startup chime to work..Proud owner of dozens of broken TV's and many,many,many boards.
