  • Samsung plasma tv model PN50B450B1D not turning on and clicking

I have the infamous "will not turn on and makes clicking noise". I have looked at all the caps, they look ok no bulging or leaking. If I unplug the T CON board it will turn on and I hear the startup sound and the red light on the front flashes about 5 times then it shuts off. I have to unplug it to get it to come on again. It did the same thing with the Y main unplugged. I don't just want to throw parts on it blindly. I should mention this is my first tv repair. What tests should I do?

Also with the control board unplugged the red light on the front flashes about 5 times then the tv goes off and will not turn on again unless I unplug the power cord for a few seconds.

I'm working on a Samsung 50 inch plasma, it will not turn on and clicks. I've unplugged the boards from the power supply board and reconnected one at a time untill the clicking came back. Watched a video that said to do this to find the bad board. In doing this I found that if I have the control board unplugged when I plug the tv in it will come on and I have sound but no picture. When it is plugged in there is a green light on it that flashes and the clicking noise sounds like its coming from the PSB...what do I do now?

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello my name is T.J. I'm a cnc machinist (programming and set-up). I grew up in a small engine/equipment repair shop. I can do a little bit of everything, but I'm new at working on electronic devices. I do have some background as an electrician, commercial and residential, but limited.
