Hello, so before our tv was half dark then later about after 10 min or so it would be normal. So now the tv won't even start and the green power light goes on and off every few seconds then repeats the cycle.

I am sure there are many threads regarding this set or similar. Read some of them and you will see what information we need to help you. What electronics experience do you have, do you have a multimeter and soldering equipment. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

I have a multimeter But I lack the basic knowledge to use it and no soldering equipment. I have checked some forums but I only get the gist of what they're saying. I hope we could do a walkthrough? Or at least a lead to what I should be doing.Comment

Personally I think fixing a TV with no knowledge is a step too far - most people start with monitors or PCs and at least would know how to use their meter.
There is also the problem of working safely - up to 4000vAC in a TV!!
I suggest you start by reading this from post 19. When it mentions a componentlook it up on the internet to see what it might look like and find one in your set.

Download instructions for your meter and test a few things and look for youtube
items on using a multimeter
When you have done that read this thread I know its a 48 but it had the same half dark problem?

by spice_discI'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.
The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...1 Photo -
by nono34Hello,
I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.
I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to... -
by Yoda79Hi, wondering if anyone can help with a tv which seems to turn on but turn off soon after and continue to do this cycle over and over again.
It turns on, no sound and then turns off and starts the whole cycle again. I've opened up the back and can see the backlights turning on. However when I disconnect the two straps connecting the left hard board (as you look on the back of the TV), the boot cycle stops and it does turn on and I can hear the boot up sound, however no video?
Any thoughts, any help would be greatly appreciated.... -
