    Samsung 42 boards

I bought a board of emos tv parts that does now work and emailed them to tell them this is what they come back with are they fobbing me off :

Hello, these YSUS boards are thoroughly tested before dispatch, the Samsung PS42C450 and the Bush BPDP42HD2 suffer from screen issues (they both have the same Samsung screen in them) where they will destroy the YSUS, XSUS or buffer or any combination of the 3 leaving the set stuck in standby when one of these boards are replaced the screen will immediately destroy the replacement part. The only way to resolve this issue with these sets is to replace the screen itself, Thanks EMOS.

Hi i have found with these sets that the only way to replace boards is all three Y Sus/X Sus /Y buffer one bad board will take out the others, you need to test any replacement boards you get before fitting ,this will stop a bad one blowing the rest and you can return it saying that it has not been fitted but tests faulty,i for one test all my boards when taken from damaged screen sets that i put up for sale , I cannot say if this is the same for EMOS as i have returned boards that have tested and shown shorts from them in the past but still buy from them as i have never had a problem getting them replaced or refunded Flocko

Have bought many boards from Emos TV without any problems. As regards your problem I am in full agreement regarding the need to change Y Sus/X Sus /Y buffer. However I dont believe it to be screen problem as replacing all three with confirmed working boards will cure the problem. This is definitely the case with the Bush BPDP42HD2/3 but I have found the Samsung PS42C450 more forgiving as to replacing individual boards. I would be interested to know the full model number of TV concerned?

There are no bad panel issues that I am aware of that can cause such damage. At the very least you need to repair both Y-main and X-main. I am not sure about Y-buffer - I have heard it can be an issue... getting replacement Y-buffer boards is very hard (most of them are bad because cracked screens damage them.)
