    Samsung LN32A330J1DXZA

    Hi there
Thank you again for all of the great information available just for the looking.
I've been reading the forums about problems with the Gamma Chip failures on the Samsung LCD T-Con boards. I've come across 2 of the TV's listed in the title of this post. Both have the same symptoms. Washed out, distorted colors etc.
I'd like to test the AS-15 IC. Will you tell me if the test points on this t-con board are marked GM1, GM2 etc? Want to make sure I'm testing the right place.
    Thanks

Just report the DC readings of GM1 ~ GM14.
    GM1 = xxxV

I will not be surprised if it is AS15 IC is bad.

Thanks Bud. I found the thread with the spreadsheet and more conversations about replacing the AS15. I'm going to order a few and give it a shot. Since I have one spare board to practice with, maybe I'll get lucky and get 2 Tv's running. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Just be real careful with the pads, they sure come off real easy.

              Re: Samsung LN32A330J1DXZA

              Hey Bud,
Just wanted to give an update on my progress.
I was able to get one of the 3 repaired. My learning curve was a little steeper than I had anticipated in removing the gamma chips.
              The first one.... I destroyed.
The second one... I lifted 2 pads and attempted to run wire to repair. I never did get that one working.
The 3rd one was removed with a razor knife to carefully cut each leg of the chip while running the knife carefully right next to the main body of the gamma chip. A hot soldering iron easily removed everything that was soldered to the board after the main chip body was carefully removed. I removed this chip with no damaged pads using the razor knife and soldering iron.
Soldering the new chip in place wasn't too bad. I just ran a bead of solder across the whole thing and used solder wick to clean up the excess solder. After a quick check under magnification to make sure everything looked good, I put the T-Con board back in and the TV is working wonderfully.
Thank you so much for all of the information that you and others have provided for people like me to use.
Here are the before and after test results of the repaired board. The results are consistant with the others that have made the same repair.

Good job on the repair. Thank you for the feedback on the repair. I did not have the problem with removing or installing the IC, but I do have problem with the new ICs, I order them 5 at a time and sometime 4 out of 5 will be good then the next time 3 out of 5 will be good. I have done about 20 so far.
