    Tnpa5081 sc kits

There's a few people offering repair services for the TNPA5081 now.

But little in the way of kits and not all kits are necessarily complete enough to be a success.

In fact if certain key bits are missing, your newly fitted Q661 will likely pop.

A couple of posts have popped up now about the ShopJimmy kit.

Both have failed I expect with the current contents a majority will.

This would be a better kit but also a bit expensive. 27 parts
    kit

SJ only has 25 parts. also reported is at least one SMD transistor that has been substituted with another of a larger package which makes it a little harder to solder in place since the pads don't line up.

    SJ example

Looking at this, not a bad option when you factor in a kit and risk of failure.

But for the skilled, replacing just the bad bits will be the cheapest.

Is this for real or a mistake?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15pcs-Set...-/291250405584

Why would you ?, a repair is about half that at Modus. With the sale about 1/3

Price was $59.90, 2 sold today, then price adjustment to $180 ???

It's a common eBay tactic, it costs money to relist, so by setting the price high they prevent it selling (to anyone sensible) and just drop the price when they've got stock.

Gee , must be doing it tough then to do that just to save a few bucks.
