Ticking with PS42A457P1DXXU 42" Samsung Plasma

hi there guys i got a problem with my Samsung 42" plasma (PS42A457P1DXXU) the PSU that is in it is BN44-00206A, when you power on the tv without tryin to switch it on it trys to go on automatically but the red LED power light just flashes a few times then you hear some clicking then shuts back off again then trys to boot up again in a continuous loop , anybody else had same problem or can shed some light on this ? thanks

Check cold joints on power board. Isolate X-main and Y-main boards. Failing that, consider main board issue. Try test pattern jumper.

Cold joints -- Inspect power board for solder joints which look dry, cracked, broken, fractured or intermittent.

Isolate X-/Y-main -- Unplug the X- and Y-main power cables from power board, then check if set still clicks. Try with one board at a time. Only change power connections with power OFF.

Y-main then. I'd try sourcing a replacement. Repair may be difficult unless you have component testing skills and SMD rework ability.

Tom66 the PCB number on that board is LJ41-00604A, cant seem to find any on ebay, is it really that difficult to epair this board ?

Try looking for LJ92 number. I have never repaired one of these boards but would imagine the cost of IGBTs from China + associated parts will likely exceed £30.

I'd go with the 2nd one. Remember to factor in import charges - and check sites other than ebay.

FlatTVParts, parts4u.me.uk, Emos' TV spares, TVPartsUK, etc...

With the US one, you're taking a chance in that they don't accept returns, so you COULD be left with a dud board.

typed that BN96-08876A into ebay and only one showed, was X-Main board
