that was just with bottom board in. when i have both boards. in something on y main gets hot cause u can smell it ...so i have to look more

well i think what i have is a y main that has a newer revision and not the right upper n lower buffers
for that revision. i have 2 of the same ...sets from same person. and. both come on with lower part of screen .but if i put upper buffer in also there is no pic and. the two resisters on y main get hot

This is the panel that has the common shorted upper buffer and shorted Ymain fault. Our models did not get the revised Ymain with the onboard led for fault indication.

My recollection of these is you can't run just the lower buffer and get a picture.

I never got it to produce an image on mine with just the lower.

On all 3 I touched the upper buffer was shorted and the 88N30W FETs were short also although you only need one to short for the rest to test short in cct.

Pretty sure Tom has a video repair of this exact setup and testing of the buffer boards as well.

I think I've read posts on the burnt out resistors you say are getting red hot, blown zeners near those , shorted FETs I mentioned plus the one next to those, starts with Kxxxx, bad 680uF caps too.
