Hello, I'm very new to this forum and have joined in order to obtain any type of assistance or wisdom regarding my non-working Panasonic TH-58PX600U Plasma television that was manufactured in Sept of 2006.
I have searched and read a number of the threads regarding the Panasonic 7 blinks of death but none have directly answered some of my concerns...likely because of my electronic ignorance. I am a DIY type of guy but may be jumping into waters too deep for me.
Is there an easy way for me to test which board is faulty? I have yet to pull off the back panel. And even if I'm able to determine the faulty board, how much would it cost to replace it? Can I purchase a refurbished board? With 50 inch tv's as inexpensive as they are, would wisdom dictate just buying a new one or would it be worth the effort to fix my current television. I remember paying 4k for it in late 2006. Crazy, i know.
I am leaning toward at least determining the current cause of death and seeing if I can attempt to fix it for under $150. If not, is it worth selling the tv as is and letting another repair and resell it.
