    sears sr 3000 crt tv oct 1987

    tv did it again channel box went off no big pop this time tho just no low power again which is the 120 am fuse i think the connector is faulty cause i moved it around and got it to work and thats where the problem was when i was using the ohm meter so anyone know what those clips are called that hold the fuse i wana replace it for good so i can get the tv working again

      u think that would work ? cause what happens if it ever pops in the future ?

        It is what i do, just solder leads to the fuse and solder to the PCB... Just desolder the bugger if it goes. yeah if its popping all the time will be a pain but shows there is something popping it and finding the cause would be best

          yeah i cleaned it check everything and then i roll the ohms to the fuse no ohms messed with it for a bit then got a connection and then it turned on i even redid the fly back as well so i'm hoping that will work been 2 weeks and all of a sudden today turned on for 2 sec then no channel box and screen so yeah i'll do it tomorrow when i get up cause its to late to work on it now everyone sleeping

            well no wonder it don't get a good connection there rusted so looks like i'm replacing them with a set of new ones

              well replaced part not the issue something popped i think its one of the wires on the bottom of flyback but dad said screw it gonna get rid of it and say screw it dont wana mess with it anymore

                Well I give you props for at least trying to repair the tv. At least you're gaining experience in the field.

                  yes i have had better luck with other stuff i did pull it apart it blew a wire on the flyback that i soldered so yeah not worth redoing it again i made sure it was done right but something made it spark and come off but its all good i have another crt tv my fiance gave me from storage a zenth so i will play nes and other stuff on it and that works ok for now for the basement cause upstairs we have flat screens this is just for the family room
