    Samsung LCD LM40M87BD

At first thought it was normal issue of bad caps with power supply constantly clicking. Found that secondary cap C808 was badly swollen but all others appeared fine but as a precaution changed all secondary caps anyway. On power up fault was still showing with constant clicking. Have also now replaced eprom under main board ic803 which is recommended after replacing secondary caps but to no avail as still no start up. All voltages on psu go off and on in relation to the clicking but not the inverter voltage which remains off( Inverter fuse F1801 is ok). Any ideas?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Pictures of the boards? Where did you buy the capacitors from? Checked your soldering work?

Thanks for your replies will take a photo of board tomorrow ( BN44 00167A). Bought low esr Panasonic caps from a good source and alway double check quality with esr meter before fitting. Am used to soldering so I dont think thats an issue. I take it you refer to one of the the eproms on the PSU board, is there a way of checking this?

Many thanks to vincerogers69 I forgot to look at the link you posted. As a part of the power supply repair kit an eprom ic803 is included and as after replacing the 1000uf caps it still clicked I replaced the old eprom with the new one. I telephoned the company that supplied the kit before changing the eprom to ask whether I could try shorting pins 5 and 6 to reset original eprom rather than fit the new one. They were of the opinion that if a new one wasnt fitted that it might fail again. After fitting the replacment eprom and powering up the tv there was a delay after the usual 2 clicks so I thought that it was going to be ok. Then annoyingly it started clicking again as before.
I havnt as yet tried shorting pins on 5 and 6 as I didnt think it should be necessary on a new eprom. I will later try soldering a link wire on 5 and 6 pins to reset eprom and report back results.
