hello al got this one in yesterday then the same today all displaying same fault

as I cant find picture nor do I have the camera its at the mothers

I have 2x these sets all fuses voltages etc on y main and z sus all check out as do vy vsc vzb I tried to jump auto exe gen but still same picture

any ideas

Check -Vy, Vsc. Likely buffer boards, again.

Does it have two buffer boards in it?
You can check for sure, but you need a good oscilloscope.

yes 2 buffers in each one of the top y buffers defo broke as no screen will show if it connected

Do you get anything with just bottom buffer installed? Same image?
Do you have an oscilloscope? If you plan to repair plasmas without board-swapping lots, you will need to invest in one.

no I get same image black with a load of colours all over no image though and a white line that jumps about screen I think that's the no signal box moving about the screen

Sounds like your bottom buffer is bad and your top is maybe OK, but it's not getting a signal (buffer boards chain signals on most 720p sets like this.)

Unless you have one set with opposite failure (top bad, bottom good) I can't see that being possible. As I said previously, if you don't want to just board swap you really need a scope to do the tests.

Are you looking for a guaranteed answer? A defective Y-sustain could also cause this issue (with the poor colours; Vset-dn/Vset-up ramp poor), but you would have at the very least a defective buffer.

You can get a basic analog oscilloscope for around £80, which will suffice for most checks. You look like you repair a lot of TVs so it's worth considering buying one to save money on replacing parts.
