LG 50PS3000 Faulty ZSUS EAX 55361501

I purchased an LG 50PS3000 as faulty off a Polish guy in hope to learn more about fixing TV's. The TV has sound but no picture. When I removed the back I was disappointed to find someone had already investigated the fault, found a blown fuse on the ZSUS and soldered a wire across it.

If I check continuity across Fast Recovery Diode(RF2001 T3D) I get continuity across every pin combination and also again with the Mosfets(45F122). I removed the Fast Recovery Diode to test and it appeared ok, I'm assuming the same with the Mosfets.

Does this issue point to something else on the board being shorted causing the problems?

I have seen repair kits for this board, but they state they are for poor picture quality and red sparkles, I'm not sure they will fix my issue.

Poor picture quality with purple/red tint can be caused by faulty Z-sustain. Do the repair kits include those parts? Maybe they are for the ones which blow the fuses which aren't jumpered over.

The guy is selling 2 kits, 24 piece and 16 piece kits, but no mention of Fast Recovery Diodes. He does mention 6x 45F122 , 4 resistors and a Zener Diode.
I think my next step will be to take the mosfets out and test them.

      Thanks

HUAWEI Matebook D15 Bom-WDQ9 - faulty onboard RAM
        by JarzabekPZ
I have a Huawei Matebook D15, MB DAH98PMBAB0 REV. B with faulty onboard RAM. Laptop starts but when loading Windows instantly gets BSOD's. Passmark Memtest shows multpile faults on test 11. Memory is itentified as 2 modules Samsung M471A5244CB0-CWE, which are available as standard so-dimm. Is it possible to desolder memory from such module and solder it on the MB? How to identyfiy which one on the MB is faulty?

Why doesn't current just bypass faulty capacitors.
        by Spudgun
Hello esteemed members. I appreciate that my question will strike some as being somewhat childishly simple, but it genuine perplexes me! I have repaired several laptops before by removing a faulty capacitor that was short-circuiting the motherboard, whereupon the laptop would then work. For me, it begs the question that, if the current can bypass where the capcitor was when it has been removed, why didn't it just bypass it when it was present and faulty,? I can't get my head round the premise that if the other side of the capacitor is connected to ground, then why doesn't the current simply bypass...

Acer A317-53 need help to disable faulty onboard ram
        by b-slayer
        Hello.
I have an Acer Aspire A317-53 laptop with faulty onboard ram modules, after online searches, I have only found two options to get it working :
        - first one is to modify le bios to disable the onboard ram.
        - second one is to disable the onboard ram by desoldering some components on the mainboard.

so after some hours google-ing, i have to give-up the modified bios option, main reason is I couldn't find anywhere a such modified Bios, alternate reason is that if windows update makes a bios update, the problem is always here...

so i found that my motherboard...

Ryobi 36V (aka 40V) 6Ah Faulty Battery Pack
        by brispuss
Purchased a Ryobi 36V 6Ah battery pack maybe just over a year ago.

Battery pack had been used on about 3 or 4 occasions for powering a cordless lawnmower. I was wanting to use this battery pack again recently, but on checking the battery charge state via the battery pack test button, there was no LED indication at all of charge state which suggested the pack was fully discharged.

I found this to be odd as I usually fully recharge battery packs shortly after use. So either the pack developed some sort of fault which completely discharged the pack cells (after recharging),...
