    Samsung pn58b650 mainboard issue

So a friend brought me his dead Samsung last night. When powered up no light on the screen except for a few sparkles and it keeps turning on and off. Anyway long story short found a blown bottom bottom buffer board. remove the board and applied the test pattern and when the screen gets to the red test it shuts off and restarts. Mainboard appears dead as nothing is on the screen when the test pattern is not enabled. What I have found is what appears to be a popped IC on mainboard. It's an 8 pin z102hai location IC207. This looks to be a voltage regulator of some type. Anyone successfuly replaced . this with success?

Can we see a picture of the failed regulator?

Here is the IC. Its a little scared up from pulling it with a pair o f tweezers but you'll see the hole in it. Replced it from another samsung but it was a 50" with a bad screen. Still does the same thing no picture and power cycles on and off. But I can get test mode to come up on logic board.

Jumper PS-ON to GND with 100 ohms, VS-ON to 5V standby with 100 ohms, remove LVDS and jumper 3-4 on logic board. Patterns should repeat indefinitely.

            Re: Samsung pn58b650 mainboard issue

Oh and I removed the faulty buffer IC. Bottom of the lower buffer board. Going to order a replacement. Its a panasonic AS16489A. Never had a panasonic IC fail yet. Oh well.
at first I was thinking maybe the buffer bird failure had caused something to happen to the mainboard but I don't see how that's possibleat least I have seven eighths of the screen now.

Yep. Jumped the connections and it stays on with test patterns

Any ideas what might be the issue with this mainboard before I just purchase another one? Does anyone have a schematic on it? Part Number is BN94-02855F

                  Re: Samsung pn58b650 mainboard issue

well I am on a rant. Mainboard issues not an issue anymore I replaced it with a new one. But as for the buffer boards go why is it that I have bought two separate boards on eBay from two seperate sellers and both of them are shorted? Don't people test board's before they send them out I mean it's easy you put the black lead on the ground in you run the red lead along the buffer output to the panel and if you get a beep it sure did unbelievable. and also when you have a cracked screen why do people plug them in anyways to see if they still work cause that's what kills these boards immediately. I mean a cracked screen is a cracked screen. I wouldn't be buying these use boards if the sellers weren't saying that they have been 100 percent tested! obviously they have been 0 percent tested!

You get this all the time.
Here, at least I test MY buffers before I sell them (though I don't sell too many parts myself.)

Tv works fine now. Removed a good ic from a dead board and installed it on my buffer board.

Samsung DM32D – Red LED blinks 5 times, won’t start (possible mainboard issue)
                          by Nairolf
                          Hello,

                          I have a Samsung DM32D display.
When I try to power it on, the red LED blinks 5 times and nothing happens—the unit won’t start.

Here’s what I have tried so far:
                          1. Disconnected the cable between the mainboard and the power supply → the backlight turns on.
                          2. Disconnected the main T-CON ribbon cable → same issue as before, the LED still blinks 5 times.
                          3. Disconnected one of the two T-CON ribbons to the panel (tested each one separately) → same issue, the LED blinks 5 times.

From these tests, I suspect the problem might be on the mainboard. Could anyone...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                          by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung HG49EE690 Hospitality TV reboot issue Mainboard BN94-11086A
                          by alltvrepairs
                          Hi,

I have 3 of these TVs for repair with same problem of going to standby after around 10minutes and start again continuously. I have tried a new SPI 25Q40 but fault remains. Am suspecting a CPU problem as it gets a bit hotter than I expect.
This seems to be a common problem in these models. I am 100% sure it is a mainboard issue as I have fitted a spare from a normal TV from a UE40K5607 and stays on (diplay inverted but I managed to rotate in SM using a different display).

                          Any help appreciated!...

                          by vincentedel
                          Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...
