Luxor LCD horizontal lines and all messed up

My sons Luxor lcd has horizontal and vertical coloured lines, also a splash mark as if it's been hit by something although he is adamant it hasn't been hit and a large whit triangle eminating from the mark. Any ideas if it could be fixed or time for a new one?

That sounds like a cracked LCD panel, which would not be repairable. That would only happen if someone/something has hit the panel.
    Something like this? http://www.edmontontvrepair.com/service.htm

Thank you tom66 I had a feeling that was the case. On the hunt for a new tv I guess although it will be coming out of his birthday money.

If you buy a non-storebrand TV (like Luxor), avoid Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, Sanyo and JVC: they all re-badge their TVs and so you basically get a store-brand TV with a fancy name on the front. Panasonic, Sony, LG and Samsung still make their own (that list is in order of personal preference.)

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
            by Ihandyrepair
            Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
            by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
            by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA Horizontal lines
            by x_orange90_x
I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

            Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
            by Rubenlily
            Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...
