    Samsung HPS4253 Blue Snow/Sparkle

Samsung HPS4253 is having a Blue Sparkle problem I Think. When you first turn the TV on and there's no component currently on and it's the blue screen(no component Screen) there's static in the corners of the TV. When I Do turn the cable component on there's no noticeable static at al. After a while of use I start to get this blue sparkle (maybe blue snow) effect in In the corners of the TV. If I turn the TV off and turn it back on the Blue Sparkle is gone. It seems to only happen when the TV has heated up for awhile and has been used for awhile. The time period of use where this Blue Sparkle happens does vary. I've done some research and have heard that maybe this is a voltage problem. I was wondering if you could help me finding a solution

This is probably related to the Vs, Vset, Vscn voltages or the Yrr/Yfr timing adjustments. Pictures of the boards inside your TV would help. Do you own a digital multimeter?

Can you take clear photos of the circuit boards inside your TV using a digital camera and upload them here?

OK, do you see where to test the various voltages on this sticker?

The voltages are found on various connectors on the power boards. The red probe goes on a test point, black probe on chassis, and meter set to 600V/1000V DC (if manual ranging) or volts DC if autoranging.

so I'm guessing if the voltages are off that's what would be causing the problem? then all I do is use the adjusters and adjusted to the right settings

It could be that. No guarantees. If it is though, then yes, usually a simple adjustment will fix it.

                    Re: Samsung HPS4253 Blue Snow/Sparkle

So Tom, You helped me out with this TV last year and would like to say that you were right. I was hoping that you could assist me again with my newest problem with this TV. I came back from a business trip to turn my TV on and found that there is a single thin blue line vertically going down the right hand side of the TV. From the little knowledge that I do have my gut is telling me that it is the Plasma Panel. I turned on the TV menu screen and the line goes over the menu screen. So I figured I would take it a step further and did a Signal pattern test and found that the single line is visible when the black goes over the line but hardly visible when the white part of the test goes over the line. I've heard that it could be the T-con board, But as I stated earlier my gut is telling me that the Plasma panel has finally started to show its age. I have attached a picture so that you can see what the line looks like. So if you could assist me I would be ever so grateful. Thanks Again.
