Question about Y sustain boards on a LG Plasma

So I bought a 50 in LG Plasma from a guy and he said that it did not have a picture but has sound. He said that he had a tech look at it and that he needed a new Y sustain. So he bought it but said it was a little different and couldn't connect it. I get it home and tinker around with it and I notice that the boards are a bit different.

Well the TV is an LG 50pc3d but the new board he bought was for 50pc5d. I am just wondering if this board should work with the TV, or if there is a work around to make it work, or if I will need to purchase a board for 50pc3d.

Thanks in advance for any responses and help given, Just an FYI this is my first attempt at fixing a TV and I'm definitely a newbie at electronics.

You will need the board for the 50PC3D. You can send your board out to Coppell TV repair (Google it) to be repaired for around $100. Or if you think you're capable of doing it yourself, you might be able to desolder the ICs from both boards and swap the ones from the "good" board onto the bad one. Post pics of both sides of both boards, someone here should be able to tell you if that's even possible. Are you sure the "good" board is actually good?

With all that said, unless you got the thing for free, this TV is not really worth the money it will cost to get it working. Yes it's a 50" plasma, but even if you do get it working, it will likely have maldischarge, or what they call "sparklies" here on this site. That is fixable too, but will likely cost more money in the long run.
