When the TV is off, hit INFO MENU MUTE POWER keys in this order. The TV turns on and you see a large menu structure. If you do not see the menu, try the same procedure with MUTE, 1, 8, 2, POWER instead. Usage: Up&Down arrows make selections while Right&Left arrows makes changes. You needed to backup previous value before changing any option. Some options cannot be reverted once changed. The service menu has a protected 'advanced' submenu. Press the 0 button four times on advanced to enter the hidden menu. Before touching any setting, please note the original value

There may not be a way around it. If the board has been corrupted by the power cycling (which does happen on some Samsung LCDs of this generation, I suppose it's plausible the same could happen with a plasma) then the values may have been permanently changed. The only option may be a main board swap unless you can find a way to change the protected values, but I don't know how to do that.

what about trying a eeprom from a lcd 46" or 40" would it cause harm

I don't think it will work at all, but if you're gonna order a main board you might as well try.

tom in your professional opinion will a new mains av board work

the probem im facing
could none of this cause it
bad ldvs board
bad x or y board
power supply
or buffer boards

as im thinking about getting the board today

LVDS board? You mean control board? You can do 3-4 pin jumper to test control board. Clear test patterns should appear. Very unlikely especially given the incorrect setting in menu.

ldvs tcon yeah tom I done that test and it was spot on all worked 3 colours very bright and vibrant and grey and white screen rolling al perfect

is there a way to set this board for 42 as I tried it in the ps42q97hd and its running

so im halfway there going to buy one just need to check al screens are perfect etc test service

Try the normal info menu mute power way, but if you can't change to 42" there you will HAVE to buy a main board.
