HI I HAVE MANAGED TO GET THIS TV OPERATING BUT I HAVE SUCH A BAD PICTURE HARD TO DESCRIBE TAKE OOK AT PICTURES

ive posted a picture anyone help me out here



I have done control board test this showed green/red/blue white and grey screens perfectly

my tcon board led flashes every second

I have set my vs/according to panel label and tried adjusting fr,rr but I cant find vsc I have a vr vsc-h
when I test the test point there I cant get it to -190 goes nowhere near this and I have vr vsc but cant find test point for that

also can some one in the know take a look at my option block in service menu

says me panel type is 32"amcd when the tv is 42"



also if theres nothing plugged in to the tv but powered up only it will stay on
if hdmi is connected she will shut down and keep doing so after a short period

I'd try a factory reset. If that fails make sure PDP GROUP in service menu is set correctly. Also reseat LVDS cable.

pdp group where is that mate
ive done resets nothing changed

tom what about the part on service that says panel type 32" amlcd

Yeah panel 32" AMLCD is what's wrong. Change it to 42" PDP or similar. It is called PDP GROUP on some newer Samsungs.

that's just it tom I cant its locked out theres 2 options I can not change please help me do so

if you look at the pic above of my service options you will see that there is 2 options that's a slight diff colour these are the 2 I cant change

Might not be possible to change if main board from 32" LCD has been installed by someone. You may need to find 42" PDP main board.

what about a board flash is this possible

the board states its this BN94-01178c and has a sticker with calla 42

Do you have the equipment?
Check suffix e.g. BN96-123456Z (suffix=Z) matches the main board for PS42Q97HD. Consider checking service manual for parts list.

can you explain mate and equipment what do I need I can make stuff if needed

You need a TSOP flash programmer and firmware file, which will cost more than a main board.

tom my board is a 42 main board though so whats caused this 32"amlcd panel type

Could be corrupted EEPROM; I assume factory reset did not work so try jumpering pins 5-6 of EEPROM.

do you want to point out which eeprom mate so short 5 n 6 when tv is on or off

I don't know which one it will be. The jumper is made while the TV is off, TV is then turned on, jumper is removed.
What was the original fault?

power fault clicking restarting
checked board someone had made an arse of a repair cleaned it al up and tv fired up straight away

do these plasmas defo have the eeprom I have no eeprom chips on front these are the 8 legged ic's arnt they

have a few on the the back is there a code for this eeprom

8 pin IC starting with 24, one, two or three letters and a number which is a power of two or one away (08, 16, 32, 64, ... 1025 etc.)
If in doubt Google number to check if it is an EEPROM.

done that it had a demo mode thing to select when complete

still cant acess the panel type must be a reason why this is locked out

Can you change PDP GRoup? I see option in bottom corner. What about "model option" - does that match service manual?
