    Lg 42pc3dva

    First post here.

    I have a 42" LG 43pc3dva plasma tv.

initially it was not turning on at all. no power what so ever.

looked at some of the caps on the power supply and they were bad so I replaced them. Then tried turning it on and the power came on but no display there was sound though.

Tested all fuses and found 1 in the ysus board was blown. replaced that and then powered it up. tv powers on for about 1 second then back off. unplugged the ysus board then then im back to power no display but I hear audio.

Not sure what I should be looking at next.

I am assuming it is the ysus board but the cost after looking around seems to be in the 130$ range for this particular model. Not sure if it is worth it considering all of the other things I have had to fix, who knows if there are more. I was given this TV so as of now I have only had to pay for fuses and a handful of caps.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

You have a bad Y-Sustain. I'm not sure I recognize this model. What is the Y-Sus' part number? More than likely, if it's similar to this board, the IPM under the large heat sink has failed. There could be other damage, but it's not likely:

You can change it yourself, or you can use a service like Coppell TV Repair offers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sustain-6871...item5ad9a71c41

Video on how to change IPM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8MNQYXw8E0

Both Coppell and norcal715 recommend changing the Z-Sus' IPM at the same time.

    Ok, that's all for now

      ysus part number is 6871QYH048B.

      would this also work.

looking to do this as inexpensive as possible.

Yes, that is a repair kit that includes a replacement IPM. The procedure to replace the IPM can be challenging, so watch the video I provided to understand what's involved. You can damage the circuit board rings and traces if you're not careful.

              Re: Lg 42pc3dva

its been a while and i finally got the ipm removed but in the process it seems i also damaged what ever was on c73 on the board. looks like a capacitor was there but I can't find what was there and I can't find any info on this board to buy a replacement for this part.

              anyone know what this was?

              thanks in advance.

this is the small cap beside diode d21. figures after all that work I go and break something else. and this was a huge job to get it off.

                hopefully someone knows.
                thanks in advance

anyone have any idea on this? It looks like it would be identical to the other ones I see on the board near these diodes. like c50

sorry for continuing to post on this but I really want to get this fixed now that I have it almost ready to be put back together.

                  thanks again.

HH Scott Model A510 Stereo Integrated Amplifier/ Graphic EQ - Blowing fuses in the LEFT speaker channel only. Any Help???
                    by Sik_6ty_Sixx
So like the title says, I have an old Stereo Receiver/Amplifier that I picked up from the goodwill, it's a HH Scott Model A510. When I first got it home it had zero output. Opened it up, notice the fuses are missing. Pop in 2 new fuses (AGC4A 250V) and try again, within 5 seconds the L channel fuse POP! I don't see any visible indications of damage or arc burns on the PCB, no popped resistors or diodes, no burnt traces or blown out caps. So I decide to just try another new fuse, POP. Swapped around my R and L speaker wires, and checked the integrity of all wires and connections. Everything looks...

How an incandescent light and a ESR meter ** friend**have a machine blowing fuses
                    by sam_sam_sam
About a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well

Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for

Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the ā€œEā€ stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer...

LG 42PC3 buffer output doesn't follow YSUS
                    by legg
LG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
                    All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.

Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V

Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between
drive signal pattern periods. A replacement drive signal board confirms this....

Power supply for main amp blows fuses after replacing filter caps.
                    by acedogblast
Hello I have a Marantz sr5012 that I have been repairing. After I have replaced the 2 main filter caps the 2 fuses for the power amplifier blows. The original capacitors are ELNA LAO 10,000uF 71V and the replacements are Nichicon LKS 10,000uF 80V.
I assume a short circuit connection has occurred so I set my multimeter to measure ohms across the 2 fuse connections and both read 55 Kilo-ohms so I assume that is ok.

I am certain that I do not have any bridges on my soldering and after probing around I do find a temporary 0 ohm reading when probing across the positive and negative...
