    Samsung LE46M51 No Video

    Hi
I have a Samsung LE46M51 LCD TV with no video display, just a white screen. It switches on and off ok.
There are no visible badcaps and I have taken a few voltage readings. See pictures. Power is on!
Could anyone help a tv newbie??

Trace LVDS (in first pic with 5V readings) to find T-con. Check T-con fuse.

Thanks very much...great help! That's the only place I hadn't checked as I thought it was power board and it was awkward to get to

What spec/type component would I need to replace it with?

        3A 0603 SMD
        http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...2CT-ND/1948199

Check resistance from each end to ground, with power off, to check T-con is not shorted.

No shorts which is good. Can I test by making link with fuse wire?

If you can rip a 3 amp fuse out of a car (an unimportant one, like for the radio!!) you can use it in place of the fuse temporarily, but it's not good practice to jumper over it.

Since your in UK, RS or Farnell would be better than Digikey. Or eBay. Just get a 3 amp, 32V or higher SMD fuse, 0603 size, slow blow type.

does a t-conn fuse just blow or is there a component that takes it out that needs to be found? just searching for info to keep locked away for future troubleshooting. I'm about to begin troubleshooting a Samsung LNT 4069. Tomm66 mentioned it may be a t-conn board fuse.

              thanks

Yes, they can fail randomly, because they are under-rated for the job (design error) or due to random chance. But they can also fail due to a failed part on the T-con. The 40" and 46" of this generation (LNT4069, LE46Mxx etc) commonly have blown T-con fuses due to design error.

Success. Jumped it with a piece of 5A fuse wire scraped to half it's thickness. I will replace with one from Farnell.
Thanks all! Video works fine now.
                    Happy days!

                      Re: Samsung LE46M51 No Video

Hi, idont know if this is the right way to continue in this older thread, but i have the simular problem, i kind of know its the power board on my tv le46m51 that is the problem, have no picture, and power board hot side on the top picture, shows 100 volt not 160..
and on the ribboncable over to the logicboard, its som high reading on the 13 volt connector (the only one) on top side. it shows 15.6 volt ,
and 5 volts shows 6,45. the 12 volt is correct.
so on the main board (logic) its some offset on reading to,
from left ot right it shows.
                      0, 3.26, 6.45 on first sekond 0, 1.79, 3.24 thrid 0, 5, 7,93. forth 15,57, 0 , 8volts.
so that means there is on the right side on the ribbon cable that goes to the t-xon card is 0 output.
so checks som electro caps on power board, but wonder if the 100 volts reading but the transformer could causse the problem, any ideas ?
                      best regards niklas.
