Thanks Tom. I think I'll put a new button assembly in and see if that does it. It's an old tv and won't put much more effort into it than that. The new main board I can resell on ebay, so overall the repair should cost $15 for the button assembly + $45 for the board w/shipping - whatever I can resell it for. Your help is much appreciated.

I don't know much about TV repair, but you might want to check the cable that runs between the board and the main board and make sure nothing's wrong with that - the insulation could have been cut.
