That is probably bad, what do you measure the other way around?

Yeah, on the board, I've said this like three times and it doesn't get posted, hopefully this time is the charm... Sorry for my phone being a pain in the ass
OK, I will have to download all the pictures to see how the circuits are put together and trace out the connection from the + pad of the big main filter cap to see where it goes to. That will take a while to do, in the mean time you can check the part numbers of those devices mounted on the 3 heat sinks next to the big filter cap to find out what they are, more likely one of those are bad.
Personally, I would have ordered the replacement bridge rectifier and probably had it delivered by now. Even if it is a miss, its a good start for a beginner with a problem like this.

i do plan to order one, but as a newbie, i assume to find anything else thats bad and order it at the same time, and also how am i to know that whatever else that may be bad wont take out my new rectifier bridge? or is that not possible and it would make it easier to check? thanks for you input
250 ohms between + and - does indicate there are probably more faults than the bridge.
