Samsung TV 5 blinking lights

My samsung LN40C630K1FZXA tv wont trun on. The past couple weeks the redlight would blink and the tv would turn off. Just last night i tried turning it back on and it wont start up. The redlight blinks a couple times then goes away. I can press other buttons on the TV and the red light reacts to the button pressing. I do not hear any clicks and I doubled checked to see if any of my capacitors have busted, which they havent.

I also unplugged the main board from the other ones and my tv will light up. What could be the problem?

Try unplugging the T-con board. This is the other major board connected to the main board.
The 5 blinks have no relevance -- it's simply the normal power on, which is possibly failing.

Are you talking about these 2 plugs? If so I unplugged them and plugged the TV in and it still didnt turn on.

That's the power board. The main board has the video inputs on it. T-con connects to it. If you post a picture of the entire TV layout I will highlight T-con.

Check resistance on the pico fuse on the T-con board..

The T-con is the board that Tom66 so kindly circled. There will be 1 or 2 tiny square surface mounted fuses. They will be labels F1 and F2. Check the resistance with you voltmeter probes on each side. You should have zero resistance...

I unplugged it and then plugged the tv in and its doing the same thing it did before

If the resistance is low and you are not quite sure, then turn on the the TV and check voltage on both side of those fuses. -DC voltage-

I dont have a voltmeter probe.

Most common I have had on these Samsung TV's, are the capacitors and the T-con.

Theres no way I could go further in figuring it out without one of those?
Am i just better off buying a new tv?

If it is a bad pico fuse on the T-con....it could cost a few cents if you can solder..... Or you can buy a used T-con for 20-50 bucks.

You can get a cheap voltmeter for less than a new TV

Id rather be safe and buy a used T-con. Were would I find one?
