    High-low whine Toshiba 37cv510

I couldn't find a single thing on this TV online. I can't get it to power on.

I pulled the back cover off and and can hear a fluctuating high- low whine coming from the highlighted area. None of the caps look bad ( i know looks can be deceiving)

I picked up this beauty for a whopping $20. I wanted to consult the experts before I replaced all the caps on the board. I'm still new at working with caps, I plan on ordering an ESR meter sometime soon.

    thank you!

Those two inductors are for the PFC Voltage booster circuit, the output is filtered by that large big black cap. Do you hear the sound when the TV is just plugged in but not turn on or you hear the noise when you turn on the power switch?

High-low whine may be due to varying power usage of main board in standby mode.

Its a possibility. I replaced a bunch of the smaller ones, I didn't have any 35v 150uf so I replaced it with a 35v 220uf. I still have 3 35v 1000uf I couldn't find. Radioshack has them, but I know I'm supposed to stay away from them. I still can't get any response from it.

Digikey.com or Badcaps.net store for capacitors.

Do you think this sounds like a cap issue?

No, I don't -- this power supply uses excellent capacitors.

Should I replace the main board?

Have you done any tests yet, like measure the outputs from the power supply?

                      No sir,

I'm actually pretty new to working on LCDs. I did find one thing, The whine stops all together when I disconnect the main board from the power supply. I have a multimeter and I can measure voltage with it. Is there a FAQ or sticky to point where I should look to check?
