Plasmas are the easiest for me to repair, but I have a scope, precision DMM and access to a lab at work full of equipment I can borrow for the night, without which repairing plasmas would be very difficult indeed. I've got three in my cramped dorm room right now, all Panasonic. Two work perfectly, one needs a little work but should be fixed soon.

I'm building a FreeNAS (NFS) server which will hold the XBMC databases & 2x1TB HDDs in RAID, plus gigabit ethernet, allowing four simultaneous 1080p (or six 720p) high bitrate streams without running out of bandwidth. That should be more than enough. For the lounge there's a media PC, which runs Windows 7. The basement & bedroom TVs will have Raspberry Pis hooked up to them. Raspberry Pis are dirt cheap (£30 ish) and very capable little devices, can easily stream 1080p content.

Just an update on this thread ive put a new power board in and still the same problem...
Bit annoying so i think ill change the inverter board and give that a go i have noticed the ic chip on the board is really hot to touch i mean like an iron so maybe there's a problem on the inverter. Fingers crossed or its going in the skip.

Well, if you're throwing it out, I can save you the trouble of throwing it out. I will be quite happy to pick it up within Basingstoke.
