Show me a high resolution image then, I need to see exactly what is there.

One of the more impractical cameras ever invented.

Indeed; I just laugh every time I go to a party with my brother he always uses his iPad to film video... it's a strange sight!

OK, those components aren't there then.
Check R244 has a solid connection. (It should read zero ohms.)

This is getting very strange. At one end, you have 3V, the other end, you don't. Can you check for continuity from pin 7 of PL200 to pin 12 of PL201?

You probably have a break in the trace or a cold joint somewhere. Follow that line from R244 very carefully and look for breaks. You could easily run a jumper to the main board connector (long piece of insulated wire would do) and this should sort the issue out. Very strange problem!

Well, a very odd fault to track down indeed, does everything else work?

I think you need to check where the break in the traces occurred or where the cold joints are. If it broke more than the backlight traces the main board may not be receiving all the supply rails. Also reseat all connectors etc. Maybe TV was dropped and this cracked the PCB? Should still be repairable, just need to trace down where it occurred. Common places are around screws as there is a lot of tension there.

If you ever get a tricky project you want to give up on, I work in Basingstoke 9-5 at an Electronics Engineering/Design company (internship) and will be quite happy to buy them off you. Always on the look out for TVs to fix. Recently, I started keeping a lot for myself and friends, selling them on at near cost price, which does mean I have a large, umm... "backorder"!
Got basement & living room plasmas sorted, now need smaller LCDs for each bedroom, each hooked up with Raspberry Pi XBMC to the network and streaming 1080p content over the network.
