Speaker Crackle Nordmende NU193LD

Hi

Got this set and it was dead, just standby light on and no reaction from the remote/buttons, psu was fine giving correct outputs, I narrowed it down to the main and more importantly the eeprom, as you can imagine I cannot find a file to reflash the eeprom, so in my wisdom I took the eeprom out of a Bush 19inch tv and popped it in, the tv now works the only trouble is I get a terrible crackling from the speakers...will this have something to do with the bush eeprom or could there be another fault on the board...

Will upload pictures when my misses gets back with the camera

Does crackling occur when quiet or only when making sound?

unlikely the EEPROM will cause the crackling,does it do it through any headphone jack,or the av out ?,sounds more like a dry joint in the audio section,any leads loose?try a factory reset also,and also disconnect the volume buttons to rule them out,failing all that it could be a loose coil in the speaker(s)

If I turn the volume right down it still crackles...this may sound stupid Tom, but it seems to do it worse on BBC turn over to itv its still there but no where near as much

Try using the MUTE button. Does it stop crackling when muted? Also, if you turn the volume down, does the crackling get quieter? Any pictures of the chassis? Do you have a scope?

Yeah it goes when muted, I have just seen the tv has another fault, it takes a little time and several presses of the remote to turn it on, sometimes it works fine and does it straight away.

I think it may be this eeprom causing the problems

I will try and get a good picture up later, but it is one of the chinese chassis's, I think they had something to do with "Vistron" that have exactly the same fault, Stuck in standby....always turned out to be the corrupt eeprom but no decent dumps to rectify the problem...and main boards are a nightmare to get hold of.

Looks like this one is turning fast into a PC Monitor :o)

I am doubting it is the EEPROM for either fault.
