will a Galaxy Geforce GT520 dual display with HDMI and DVI?

I've already got this posted up at toms hardware, here: sony-ps3-graphics-bundle-sharp-aquos-dual-display-galaxy-gt520

the galaxy model of the GT520 has one HDMI, one DVI and one VGA output as opposed to two DVI and one HDMI like most GT520's. what I'm trying to figure out is if the dvi port is split with the vga or the HDMI port so I know if I can independent dual display with one HDMI device and another device via dvi-HDMI cable...

    thanks!

This is not really the place to ask but in my experience cards with DVI and HDMI treat them as independent outputs. On some newer cards the VGA is connected to the analog pins of the DVI (so you can't use both on analog but you can use one on analog, one on digital) but there's a hard limit of two monitors imposed by the GPU.

Re: will a Galaxy Geforce GT520 dual display with HDMI and DVI?

if it helps, with my current setup of one display on the vga and another on the dvi via dvi to hdmi cable, when I swapped in the gt520, sound came from the tv speakers and I had to reset my soundblaster card to be the default audio output device...

is it still possible for the HDMI and DVI to output independent video?

In your post on tomshardware you mention that its illogical for a 240hz screen to have a 60x2 3d input, but that has always been the case for 240hz TV's, there is no source that can be sent to them at 240hz, movies (dvd or blue ray) and tv are always between 24-30hz (ntsc vs pal), and computers can only do 50-80hz. So the TV has to create intermediate frames to refresh the TV with. (in other words it just makes up bullshit to fill in with cause there is nothing it can receive anywhere near 240hz)

Im pretty sure the gt520 has 2 timing clocks, so should support the dvi and hdmi being used at the same time to drive different content. Almost all video cards were limited to 2 timing clocks for many years , not sure what causes that, but it prevents you from using more then 2 dvi or hdmi on any card.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

Even 240Hz displays don't display 240 images per second. They display 120, interpolating it up from 60, and add blanking and duplicate frames in between.

ok, I think that may have answered my question. so the two timing clocks are wired in a way that any two of the outputs can be used as independent outputs, as long as a third display isn't hooked up?

because I was concerned that each timing clock went to only "one" output and that one of the two output options was basically split into two connections...

From what i understand it can rearrange the clock signals to whichever 2 your using. Ive never had a cheap card like that, but nicer ones that have 2 dvi and 1 hdmi never warn you that you can only use the hdmi with a specific one of the dvi's.

Awesome, thats exactly the input I needed!
