    Toshiba 42HL167

I got this Toshiba 42HL167 from a friend that he said was hit by lightning and wouldn't power on. Taking it home I plugged it in and thought the same thing...however when I took the back cover off I was able to determine the power supply seemed to be operating and I could scroll through menus/inputs. So I plugged my dvd player in the HDMI port...great I have picture but no sound through the HDMI port. I unplugged HDMI and put the DVD through the RCA connections, no picutre or sound. So I replaced the A/V board which is a seperate board from the HDMI Board. There was no change, still no sound on the HDMI Port and still no picture or sound on the RCA components. Any clues to this? Could this be a power issue still, there seems to be a main power supply and then a sub power supply for the audio (which was still putting out the correct voltage) and other standby voltage etc...
