    from the pleasant dialogue and good wishes chirp relayed, I would have bet he would have FOLLOWED UP....WHY CHIRP WHY?

        I have this same issue. Red status light stays on but no response from tv.

        Backlights turn ON when black cable between main board and BN44-00341B are disconnected. No backlighting when ribbon cable removed from top board (t-con?) which runs to main board. Seems to point to bad main board?

        FYI, I had this tv plugged into a squid type power distributor during a thunderstorm, which I assumed was a surge protector, I guess I assumed wrong as this is what damaged my TV. The problem occurred immediately after our power flickered 4 times during the thunderstorm.

        Are there any tests I can do on the main board with a multimeter to ensure this is the problem? Also, to make sure my terminology is correct.... the main board is the board with all the audio and video inputs?

            Samsung flicker - BN44-00932T board or else?

            I picked up this TV that the prior owner said - just died.

            Tested the fuse - burnt. A dead capacitor is visible too on the hot side (CP801). Got the replacement power board (cheaply - used). Replaced the board - the TV turned ON!

            Now, about a month later (yesterday) I noticed the left side of the screen was flickering from time to time. That was already happening with the antenna input, not through HDMI.

            Also, some glitchiness with a Fire stick on HDMI3 - I hit an app with quick dark screen in stick, the TV goes - no input. Then I had to choose the stick...
